The quality of work on this custom railing is dismal. Issues include broken cables, crooked and uneven handrails, very poor stain, and installing new posts where the old ones were ripped out without any clean up whatsoever (and potential safety concerns).

Uneven posts, crooked handrail & broken cables

One of the loft rails was installed at an angle, the handrails on the stairs before the landing are asymmetrical and numerous cables lost tension, were fixed and lost tension again.

Post connections to the wall

When the old staircase and loft rail were removed there was a build up of paint and damage to the drywall. The new posts were installed without any repairs or clean up to the wall. There are also large gaps between the loft rail and the wall on both sides.

Stain

This railing was obviously stained after it was installed, resulting in bare patches of wood and stain on the floor. There stain is also uneven in terms of colour and coverage (posts seem to have several coats whereas the top and bottom rails are lighter. The wall "stringer" was left untouched but should have been replaced to match the new railing.
